Help a bride create a memory, Part 2

You may have read an earlier post I wrote about Jenna MacNeil. She is putting together a  green wedding bouquet made not from live flowers, but from brooches and other jewelry contributed by her family, friends and yes, readers of this blog (and some others who saw  it here first!).

I came across Jenna after I’d read about this trend and seen some fabulous examples online. I was so taken with the idea that I asked if we could follow Jenna’s journey to creating her own meaningful green bouquet via this blog and she agreed. We even added a widget (see right hand column) showing the posts from her blog, My Bridal Bouquet, about each item she receives. It’s a lot of fun to read the stories attached to these beautiful pieces.

A few weeks back, I sent Jen my contribution, a pin shaped not like a flower, as many of the items are, but a dragonfly. I think it could look pretty great among the sparkling flowers in the final bouquet.

You can see it in this picture Jen sent us of what she has so far.

If you’d still like to contribute, it’s not too late. Maybe you have a piece of costume jewelry you never wear and would be happy to put to good use or like to haunt antique shops as a hobby. Send whatever items you’d like to:

What a great way to help someone to celebrate green!

What do you think about the idea of creating an heirloom wedding bouquet?
