Celebrate Green Easter: Magic Cabin Faves

We are HUGE fans of Magic Cabin. From silk costumes for Halloween to organic toys for baby, this place makes celebrating green easy and fun.

Last year, we featured a few of Magic Cabin’s Earth-friendly Easter finds in these posts, but they’ve got even more adorably eco items this year and we thought you’d want to know.

Here are our 3 top picks from the 2010 Magic Cabin Easter collection:

1. Gingerbread Bird House

Why we love it: We cheer anytime food (edible & compostable) can double as decor and this ginger-bird set is sure to please eyes and taste-buds. But we also love that building the house can be a fun, family activity – in fact, you could turn making seasonal gingerbread houses a new (and yummy) family tradition.

DIY option: Make you own ginger-bird house from organic and all-natural ingredients (including food coloring) and top with organic candy or other foods. Be sure to eat (enjoy!) or compost when Easter is over.

2. Fair Trade Knitted Bunny

Why we love it: Hand-knit by a fair trade women’s cooperative in Peru in part with alpaca (35%) and wool (5%).

DIY option: Knit your own bunnies from 100% wool, alpaca or other natural fiber and stuff with wool or organic cotton fill.

3. Bunny & Lamb Cake Molds

Why we love it: What’s not to love about absolutely adorable, Easter-themed edible decor? And, as in #1, the creating of the food/decor is almost as fun as the eating! Be sure to use organic & all natural ingredients for the cake and frosting. Hint: shredded organic coconut is a healthy (frosting-free) option that looks like white wool/fur!

Green-er option: Find gently-used seasonal molds on E-bay, Craigslist, at a thrift store or borrow from a friend.
