Chanukah gifts

Celebrate Green with this sustainable Chanukah list

(Note: There are a variety of ways to spell the name of this celebration. Where the originator of an article spells it a particular way, that's how it will be spelled in the article, but you may see it spelled differently on different pages of this site.)

This list was originally created by The Jew & The Carrot: Hazon's blog on Jews, Food, and Sustainability.  www.jcarrot.org and is reprinted with their permission.

Chanukah celebrates miracles - a miracle of lights, a miracle of perserverance against odds, and a miracle of the little oil lamp that could.  And although gift-giving is a more recent addition to Chanukah, it offers us the opportunity to acknowledge the miracle of friensdhip and family.

On the other hand, there's just too much stuff in the world - too many plastic bags and too much clutter in our homes.  So when you decide to honor your loved ones with a gift, it's important to find something that not only fits their personality, but makes a difference.  Tall order?  Not anymore…

The Jew & The Carrot presents a sustainable Chanukah gift guide, which features healthy, sustainable, and meaningful present ideas for (just about) everyone in your life.

*If you click on the links below to buy your Chanukah presents, Amazon.com will contribute a percentage of your purchase to The Jew & The Carrot.  Think of it as your Chanukah gift to the blog.  (Thanks!)
