Join our National Costume Swap Day blogfest
We’d love to have you join our National Costume Swap Day blogfest on September 13.
Here’s the scoop.
As you may know, last year we launched National Costume Swap Day as a way to draw attention to swapping costumes to save money, keep millions of pounds of fabric (and plastic) from landfills, and as a fun way to kick off Green Halloween®!
It was a tremendous success with more than 75 swaps in 22 states, DC and Canada, thousands of people participating and great press including a segment on Good Morning America.
This year (primarily because we have more than a month to plan!), we expect it to draw even more attention and interest from families, groups, and the media.
Since we know you care about kids, families and the planet, we’d love to invite you to join the effort by letting your blog readers know about National Costume Swap Day by participating in our blogfest on Tuesday, September 13. (National Costume Swap Day is on Saturday, October 8.)
The focus of the blogfest will be on encouraging people to hold a public or private swap and register it on the National Costume Swap Day site.
To participate you can:
- Write your own post based on information at www.CostumeSwapDay.com or
- We can provide you with a post that you can use as is or personalize
Of course, I’m happy to answer questions in support of your post, provide photos etc.
What’s in it for you?
- We will have a page on National Costume Swap Day and also on Celebrate Green! with links to all participating blogs.
- We’ll do our best (as will our partners, KIWI magazine and Swap.com) to support your post with tweets and via FB and of course you’re welcome to post on our Costume Swap Day FB page.
- If we receive media calls from anyone interested in hearing from bloggers, your name and blog will be added to the list (if you choose).
- You’ll feel great having supported this effort to make a difference for parents and planet!
