Go Green Get Fit Challenge-Week 3

Last week I posted about my struggles sticking with “the program,” while on vacation. I’m happy to report that this past week has been very good.
I’ve never been great at hopping back on the wagon after I’ve fallen off, but this time it really is different.
I told myself, “Just because I ate enough to feed a small country in the course of ten days and gained some weight doesn’t mean it’s all over for me. Every day is an opportunity to start again.”
What a liberating thought!
One of the most important aspects for me of sticking with a food plan is that I like what I’m eating—at least some of the time. This can be a struggle when what I really love is sugar and carbohydrates. But I’m not particularly craving them at this point, even after indulging in them for a bit.
My summer afternoon treat is a blueberry protein “smoothie,” made in the blender with frozen organic blueberries (I picked a few pounds this week), organic almond milk I also make, and a scoop of organic whey powder, plus three or four ice cubes. I don’t use any kind of sweetener which is actually shocking to me as my middle name is The-Sweeter-The-Better. Seems fine without it.
I’ve also turned this concoction into “popsicles.”
With all those blueberries, I’m probably the most anti-oxidized person you know!
