Slice of tree makes memory
This is the last post of the year on ornaments, promise. But we actually had people ask us about this one, so wanted to pop it in before it’s too late.
If your tree is a cut one, prior to setting it out for composting (which of course we know you’ll do), saw off a 1″ slice of the trunk, then turn the piece into a memory of this year’s holiday.
Assuming your tree has been in water, dry out the slice for a few days. Then decorate however you’d like, being sure to include the date.
I usually ask people to sign the slice with a paint pen, then paint the opposite side, drill a hole for the wire hanger and add a bow.

Back: You can paint as I did, cut out a pretty card and glue it on or even get out your wood burning tool and have at it! (Hmm, might try that myself this year.)
See how easy is is to make a memory that will last for years!
If you try it, show us the pix.
