Craft: Fireworks centerpiece
You’re about out of time to create a centerpiece for your table tomorrow night. Whip up this one with just a few things I’m betting you have lying around your house.
What you need:
1 small can, a tuna can works well
enough corks to fill the can
wire, easy to bend but strong enough to hold bead or button on end
wire cutters
pencil
awl or nail
glue
How to:
1. Fit corks, standing on end, into can
2. Cut wire to different lengths, one piece of wire for each cork.
3. Thread a bead or button on the end of wire.
4. Curl wire around pencil and slip off
5. Curl wire UNDER bead so bead doesn’t slip down.
6. Make a hole with the awl or nail in cork and insert wire.
7. Decorate outside of can with buttons etc.
8. Cut flowers on angle so stems reach bottom of can when inserted.
9. Add about an inch of water. (Too much water and the corks will float to surface!)
