This month’s favorites focus on summer which has finally arrived in the northwest!

1. This bag from Kookla Creations, reminds me my first trip to Italy. Everyone carried these practical beauties to take home groceries. No plastic bags, what a concept! Lightweight, foldable, stretchable bags make a great summer project for knitters.

2. Intertwined Designs offers this classic style shirt in an organic-cotton hemp fabric that looks incredibly soft. (Several colors available.)

3. Kids will dig this sand and play set from Green Toys made in the USA with lead-free, BPA-free and phthalate-free recycled plastic from milk jugs. Buy online from Peek a Green.

4. As I’m totally into ombre right now, these 100% organic beach towels fill that bill. They claim to be quick dry and sand-releasing too. You can get them from Amazon.

5. I always try to buy the most sustainable options whether it comes to food or summer necessities like sunscreen. But honestly I never remember when I’m out shopping which are the good ones and which aren’t. That’s why I was so happy to see the Environmental Working Group’s new apps, one for choosing the best sunscreen and the other covering “The Dirty Dozen” fruits and veggies to avoid due to heavy pesticides. I’ve used both several times recently.
