A Valentine gift that lasts
Last year at a craft show, I came across this print:
Framed under glass, the red letters in a simple black frame caught my eye. Rick, of Row Boat Press, showed me how you can write on the glass, then erase it. Brilliant! Never thought of it, but once he explained, I bought.
(Yes, I could have made one myself, but I like to support locals as well as the person who comes up with such an awesome idea.)
I brought the framed print home, hung it prominently, then wrote the first message to my husband. I can’t remember what it said, but I do know that shortly afterward, without my prompting (miracles do happen), he erased mine and wrote one to me.
What a sweet surprise!
Since then, we’ve gone back and forth, writing and erasing brief sentences.
It’s amazing how unexpectedly spotting a new note from Steve brightens my day. And he’s told me it does the same for him.
What a perfect Valentine’s Day gift! Buy it or make it, but give it.
Take it from me, this gift will add sweetness to your married life that will last a lot longer than the largest chocolate heart!
And an added eco-hint, if you purchase or make a similar frame, be sure to pick up some eco-friendly erasable markers.
Have you ever given or received a Valentine’s gift that had lasting value?
