Fresh Celebrate Green News Feb. 11, 2009

We're on the best new green site since organic sliced bread, Mother Nature Network; help us make an impresion
Today, Wednesday, a story by Jennifer Chait, about Celebrate Green! and ideas for greening up Valentine's Day is on the homepage of Mother Nature Network. If you have a minute, please go to this link and write a comment, stumble, twitter, digg or in any other way make it known that you liked what you read. Thanks!

You want to buy green, but how do you know what you're getting?
Jump Gauge is a relatively new site that offers an easy, visual way to track the "greeness" of products and services. Everything from toys to, oh gosh...books, is given a green rating via a series of easy-to-understand icons. Users can review products and purchase them from the website. Here's the Jump Gauge page for Celebrate Green! and here's an interview Lynn did with them. We'd love it if you'd comment or write a review.

Buy $100 worth of handmade gifts and get a copy of Celebrate Green! for no green
An amazing online shop filled to the brim with beautiful musical instruments, jewelry, accessories, baskets, incense and oils, and myriad other treasures, all made by hand In Africa, is offering a Valentine's special. Be one of the first 12 people to purchase $100 worth of items from Touch of Africa, and you'll get a copy of Celebrate Green! at no cost. Many of the products at Touch of Africa, are made by co-ops and support women and communities that are struggling to survive.

Lots of fun coming soon to www.CelebrateGreen.net
We've really enjoyed offering a jar of the most luscious shea butter available, from Vintage Body Spa, with the purchase of Celebrate Green!. That offer expires February 15, so if you still haven't gotten in on it, do it today.

Starting next week, another terrific partner is coming on board, www.BestEcoStuff.com Check back at www.celebrategreen.net to see the offer. We guarantee it's something you'll love.

We've got two fun ideas that you can participate in coming up in March. One involves jewelry, the other, the Indian holiday, Holi. Watch for details.

Content syndication off to a great start
If you're a blogger or journalist who'd like content or just ideas to spark your own thinking about celebrating green, email Lynn to sign up for our special monthly content emails. In our first month, we had about three dozen people sign up and a half dozen articles about celebrating an eco-friendly Valentine's Day have resulted.

What's included in the email? One article about an upcoming holiday or celebration, some tips and shopping picks relevant to that celebration and some bullet points about a holiday later in the year to address the needs of journalists with longer lead times. You are free to use all or parts of what we send as long as you credit us.

On the road again
Heads up if you want to meet us (we'd love to meet you). We'll be putting on one of our interactive "playshops" at the Portland Better Living Show in Portland, OR on March 28 at 1 p.m.

That night, we'll race back to Seattle so we can get to the Green Festival on Sunday. We won't be speaking there, but if you're a fan of Celebrate Green! and plan to attend, let's get together. Email Lynn to set something up.

The week of April 20, we're planning a trip to the Big Apple. If you have ideas about anyone we should meet or you'd like to meet us, be sure and let us know. More about this trip as it develops.
