Fresh Celebrate Green News, June 11
Green bits
We're collecting a growing list of places where the news segment we did on greening children's birthday parties has appeared. The latest is New York City on WCBS TV in addition to TMJ4 Milwaukee, KING5 Seattle, KABC Los Angeles, WBZTV Boston. If you saw the segment in your area, let us know so we can add it to the list.
Lynn's off to London next week. Among other things, she's planning to meet with some eco-interested craftspeople and shop owners to learn about how our friends across the pond are celebrating green. Whenever she has the chance, she'll be twittering about her experiences, so be sure to follow us on Twitter if you're not already. Http://www.twitter.com/celebrategreen
The Celebrate Green blog is now available on Kindle. If you happen to own one of the newest look in "books," you can order up our blog. To be absolutely honest, since we don't have one, we don't know how you do it, but if you have one, we're sure you know how which is the important thing. If you're like us and you enjoy reading blogs the old-fashioned way, on the web (isn't it funny to think that reading online is now "the old-fashioned way?"), just go to www.CelebrateGreen.net/blog You can also of course, get it via email or RSS (if you know what that is!)
Guideposts.com interivewed us and wrote a story, Ways to Go Green, 7 family-friendly ways to help the planet, and WE magazine online ran a nice feature on us in their spring issue. And if you're looking for Father's Day playing or buying advice, check out this piece we wrote on Green Muze, as well as articles on our blogs at The Green Girls and Examiner, among others.
If you haven't been to the Celebrate Green homepage in awhile, you might stop by to see the widget that gives direct access to both our Twitter account and blog posts. We think it's a really great way for visitors to stay up to date with us. We've also consolidated a lot of links under "Cool Extras" to cut down on scrolling. Ultimately, we want to do a complete makeover, but that's down the road. Meantime, we'll continue to make incremental changes (or rather, our web guru Tony from Spokane Web Communications will make them), that we hope our users find helpful and that keep us high in search engine heaven.
And a new addition to our blog. You can now download any of our blog entries to your IPod or desktop as an MP3 file. It's pretty cool although the voice is a bit mechanical. But if you listen more than you read, this little change could be great for you. Just click the "Listen now" icon at the top of any entry.
