Thanksgiving happens to be one of our favorite holidays because of its emphasis on family. The excess here comes mostly from the food, not decorations and we'd like to encourage you to set a beautiful, thoughtful table for your guests and family.
Of course, we suggest you start with what you already own, can borrow or pick up at a store that sells gently used and vintage items. We recently found a selection of a dozen plates in a variety of fall colors and patterns at a local thirft store. The whole collection cost less than $20 and bring a unique look to our table. Everything doesn't have to match to be beautiful.
One of our top Thanksgiving tips in fact, is to ask your guests to bring their own table settings, then during dinner, share whatever stories (true or not), they can tell about their selections.
But if you are going to purchase new, try to choose items made from sustainable materials that will last through many Thanksgivings.
