How to make a photo ball
Supplies
20 photographs
Scissors
Glue (eco-friendly please)
A 3" circle punch/cutter if you have one (makes cutting the photos out so much easier!)
Thin cardboard
Clothes pins
Short piece of yarn or string if you want to hang the ball
How to
Cut out 20 circles from photos using the circle punch/cutter or a template cut from cardboard.
On a piece of cardboard, draw an equilateral triangle, each side being 3"
Lay the triangle on the photo side of each circle and fold up on each of the three sides.
Lay out 5 circles and glue one folded edge to another. Hold with clothes pins until dry. You will notice that as you do this, you are creating a curve. This is the top of the ball. Repeat for the bottom.
If you want the ball to hang, take your piece of yarn and fold it in two, then slip it through the hole that naturally occurs at the top of the ball. Tie a knot inside or if the hole is too large, tie on a bead inside to keep yard from slipping through the hole.
Lay out the remaining ten circles with one point up, then one down, one up, one down so that instead of forming a curve as with the top, you end up with a straight line. Glue each circle to the one next to it.
You now will have a top, a bottom and a straight line of circles. Start gluing the line of circles to the top. When that's done, you'll see that all you need to do to finish is to glue the remaining edges to the bottom.
If everything doesn't align perfectly, you can trim with scissors.
