Celebrate today!
We all have down days, days when it seems like everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. Or, as in our case living in the Seattle area, we’re suffering from a serious case of June-uary-itis-January-like weather still haunting us well into the month when we’re usually welcoming blue skies and sunshiny days.
Everybody deals with the downies in a different way.
I give myself 5 minute photo assignments.
What this does is to take my mind off the blues, get my creativity going and generally lifts my mood. Costs absolutely nothing (I don’t print the pix.) May sound crazy, but it works for me.
The other day, after hours and hours of pounding rain falling cleared to a mist, I needed a pick-me-up so I grabbed the camera and headed outside to shoot whatever I saw from a particular spot in the driveway.
A few of the results are below. (Too bad I don’t eat slugs. I’d never go hungry!) But the real results were in my mind where I came around again to the importance of celebrating life every day no matter how much rain is falling-literally or figuratively.
What do you do to celebrate when you’re down?
