It's taken just about nine months of gestation to produce our bouncing baby book, Celebrate Green!
Now that it's arrived, we're as ecstatic as any first time parents, but we also recognize the wisdom in the proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child." We know that we cannot make a success of Celebrate Green! on our own. Just like any new parents, we need help!
Whether you have already played a role in supporting us as our baby grew from an idea to a real, live individual or are just hearing about it for the first time, we'd love to have you share in the joys of its upbringing.
You won't be required to get up in the middle of the night to feed and change it or keep it from falling down the stairs when it's learning to walk or help it with homework or coach its baseball team or eventually, worry that it will not arrive home safely after the prom.
Helping to raise our baby is a lot easier.
The only thing we ask is that you volunteer 10 minutes or less of your time each week to babysit.
If you agree, every Monday, starting October 6, you'll receive an e-mail from us with an idea about what to do for the baby during your sitting stint that week.
For instance, you might be asked to write a brief online review of Celebrate Green! for Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
Or call your local library and request they purchase the book.
Or stop by a local gift shop, show them a copy of Celebrate Green! and ask if they'd like to carry it
Of course, like any good parents, we'd love a two-sentence report on how things went. And we'll be happy to report the baby's growth to you. (With your help, we hope it will be off the charts!)
That's it.
Interested?
Just e-mail me or simply reply to this e-mail and add your first and last names to receive the weekly requests. (At any time, you may choose to resign this grave responsibility.)
Just for signing up and agreeing to follow through for at least two months, we'll send you one copy of Celebrate Green! at a BIG discount. (You'll receive information about how to order next week.)
Also, if you sign up and follow through, and if you offer a "green" or "eco" product or service that aligns with our values at Celebrate Green!, we will try to find a way to feature you and/or your offering on our website, on our blog or in one of our updates.
Of course, we can't force sitters to show up on time and take care of the baby, but we know you are a responsible person. And if you don't follow through on your promise, we won't be able to recommend you to any of our friends with babies which could ruin any chance you might have of becoming a nanny to Brangelina's kids.
If you know anyone else who might be interested in helping raise our baby, please feel free to pass this message on. We're aiming to sign up 500 sitters.
Thank you in advance for being a part of our village.
